Today’s reading: Mark 9:30-50, 10:1-12

“But at the beginning of creation God ‘made them male and female.’ ‘For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh.’ So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Jesus defined (male+female), defended, and affirmed marriage as it appears in Genesis. He also doubles down on giving a special message to those who were wanting to dump their wives for no real reason. Divorce isn’t something that can be done whenever we aren’t being pleased. Marriage is for the good and the bad seasons, even when we may not be feeling it. Marriage is also supposed to get better with time (as we age together).
